BarkVisor documentation
BarkVisor runs virtual machines and Docker Compose apps on your computers. Each computer is a Device. Your Devices make up a Home that you can manage from one web console.
Install a package
Section titled “Install a package”You do not need to build BarkVisor or install developer tools.
macOS Install the .pkg on an Apple Silicon Mac.
Linux Install the .deb on Ubuntu or Debian. Other distributions can use a portable tarball.
Windows Install QEMU, enable Windows Hypervisor Platform, and install the BarkVisor zip.
Set up and run
Section titled “Set up and run” First launch Name your Device, add a passkey, and choose an image folder.
Create your first VM Choose an OS, configure the VM, and open its console.
Install an App Run a Docker Compose app from the catalog.
Add another Device Pair your computers and manage them from the same console.
Everyday use
Section titled “Everyday use” Using the web UI Find your way around Devices, Workloads, Images, and Logs.
Networks Connect VMs with NAT or a bridge.
Ollama Download models and connect an inference client.
Settings and updates Manage sign-in, keys, catalogs, and package updates.
Troubleshooting Get help with setup, VM startup, networking, and logs.
Changelog Read release notes and recent changes.
